The Blue Community (La Maison Bleue)

I personally used this Airbnb listing twice when I was in Dakar. This towering hostel is in the same neighborhood as the African Renaissance Monument and nearby to other prominent sites like Mamelles beach. All of the rooms are equipped with a kitchen and bathroom, the Wi-Fi signal is good throughout the building, and there are water filling stations on each floor. In the morning before you go off exploring the city, you can grab breakfast at the top level with stunning views of the city. The hosts can speak basic English and they were helpful in assisting me with directions/taxi-hailing.

Room accommodation: 3 options (1 double bed, 1 double and 1 single beds, 2 single beds); 9 rooms in total starting at $25/night*.

Residing in a UNESCO Site (Villa De Charme Beau Jardin Piscine)

There aren’t many chances for you to sleep in a UNESCO site. The listing is on Gorée Island, an island famous for its dark history during slavery. Unlike tourists that come and go, those who stay can enjoy the island and peacefully explore the site with the friendly locals. The listing is equipped with a plethora of amenities and is the perfect getaway for those wanting privacy in a surreal environment.

Room accommodation: 2 rooms (1 queen bed in each room) starting at $246/night*.

Private Apartment in the Business District of Dakar (Spacious Loft with 360° City View)

This sky terrace listing is perfect if you want to relax in the bustling city. On top of the amazing view, the location is in the middle of Dakar with the Museum of Black Civilizations located a few kilometers away. Boutique shops and markets are easily accessible and the check-in process is done at your convenience.

Room accommodation: 2 rooms (1 queen bed and 2 sofa beds) starting at $89/night*.

Room accommodation: 1 room (1 double bed) starting at $13/night*.

The Ultimate Condo for Parties of 12+ Guests (Quiet and full of light condo duplex)

The most extravagant listing on our article is this multi-tier condo. Located in the heart of Dakar, the amenities here include a hot tub, a gym, a sky terrace, chique bathrooms, and a shuttle service that takes you to and from Dakar’s Blaise Diagne Airport (DSS). Reviewers of the listing highly appreciate the owner, citing that “ [he] is a gem of a person.”

Room accommodation: 7 bedrooms (4 queen beds, 6 single beds, and 2 air mattresses) starting at $249/night*.
