"Warri" by Efe ft. Olamide

Efe became popular after emerging the winner of the trendy Nigerian reality TV Show, Big Brother Naija in 2017. Ever since, Efe has sought to take the Nigerian music scene by storm with a number of singles including ‘Based on Logistics’, ‘Somebody’ and ‘I love you’ in a flurry.

Yet, it seems that none has captured the attention of the Nigerian music audience more than ‘Warri’.  This song scores hits for a number of reasons. For starters, the video production was dope.  Kudos must be given to the producer, the eclectic Young John. His adroit mix of elements of energetic choreographers, powerful /trendy dance steps, iconic backgrounds/views of the city as well seamless transitions, gives Warri an immense appeal and spread across Nigeria, and even Africa.

The sounds and rhythm keep you on your feet and moving, even if you do not want to dance. Efe brings his ‘A’ game with brilliant bursts of rap lines, which gives listeners an insight into the dynamics, places, and culture of the city of Warri, with an emphasis on the local lingo: “Warri no dey carry last”.

The musician’s stage name, ‘EfeMoney’ also comes into sharp focus and seems to seat well with the young audience, especially considering Efe’s rise from the backwaters of the city to fame as the winner of Big Brother Naija 2017.

Want to know the icing on the cake with this track? It is featuring one of the heavyweights of hip-hop in Nigeria and formidable Yoruba rapper, Olamide. The YBNL boss contributed his iconic voice and color to Warri, with electrifying rap bursts and the avowed street credibility.
