The Bounce Back

Genre: Romance, Comedy

Starring:  Shemar Moore, Nadine Velazquez, Bill Bellamy

The film is loosely based on the novel “The Bounce Back Book” by Karen Salmansohn. The lead character is a relationship guru and self-help expert, Matthew Taylor. A divorced dad turned playboy; Matthew is your typical charmer who walks through every occasion pretending he has no relationship baggage. His latest best seller, “The Bounce Back” explores the methods of getting over heartbreak. The book is based on Matthew’s self-ordained ideology that as long as you will it yourself, you can get over a relationship split.

Together with his best friend and manager Terry Twist, Matthew is on a book tour promoting his book, when he has a run in with clinical physiologist, Kristin Peralta. Kristin is a licensed therapist, with a sharp tongue, who makes no concessions about what she thinks of Matthew. She is convinced Matthew is a charlatan. She makes Matthew rethink about his past and all he knew about love and heartache. Very soon Matthew’s life is turned upside down when he falls in love with Kristin.

Film goers can easily relate to the heartbreak and pain of break-ups, and how difficult it is to move beyond. The underlying messages of love and bonding, and great dialogues make it a movie worth watching.
